Stung in the tail – Ouch

Zorah, the big male boxer, has all of the great boxer behavior and energy and has a great time with the group. On occasion he may “box” with a dog on greeting but generally he is really nice and balanced. Two blocks from our rest stop today, when most dogs were starting to wind down, he moved anxiously to my side and dropped his hips and was swinging his head back and forth. I had all of the dogs sit and we walked ahead to see what was causing this odd behavior. I requested a sit/down and he was not excited but complied and as soon as he was down I saw the wasp hanging from his tail. Ouch! I quickly removed it to his pleasure we got to the rest stop without further incidents. 13 dogs on the morning walk and 7 in afternoon.

We also had the privilege of seeing a Pileated Woodpecker by Lake Harriet.  A really cool sight in the city!
