Urban Wildlife continued (again)

We usually don’t get out a group on Saturday but our weather was too nice not to head out. Bright sun with crisp temperatures made for great walking. 8 dogs made the trek and we were surprised with another “first” sighting. We were walking along the south end of Lake Harriet an spotted a Pileated Woodpecker flying between trees. They have a very distinctive flight pattern and are big birds. While not rare, they are uncommon in the middle of the city. Once again, how cool is that!

32 dog miles today with 2,315 since tracking began.
