Blustery Day

november-wind.jpgThere were two groups out today. We walked around Lake Harriet in the morning and Lake Calhoun in early afternoon. The skies were gray and temps were in the low 40’s with winds in excess of 35 mph, needless to say it was blustery as you can see at left.

windsurf.jpgThe second photo shows a good example of what I might refer to as “Minnesota Nuts”. As we walked around Lake Calhoun in the afternoon these two guys were stretching out the windsurfing season. I hope they had really good wet suits.

There was a tragic situation where a park police officer was killed in the line of duty and his funeral was held this afternoon. He was interred at Lakewoods Cemetery overlooking Lake Calhoun. Film crews were out shooting the processional and they included some footage of our afternoon group on the Channel 4 news at 6:00 (along with the windsurfers above).

40 dog miles on Monday and Tuesday with 47 today. Over 1,847 since tracking began.
