More Urban Wildlife

the-gales-of-november.jpgThere was a large group for the pack walk today. 10 dogs made the 4 mile trip. While we were approaching Lake Harriet I heard the distinctive cry of a Bald Eagle. Looking up, there was a pair rocking around in our 35 mph wind gusts. How cool is that to see bald eagles in the middle of the city?

the-landseer.jpgWe also saw a relatively rare cousin of the big Newfoundland in the pack, a Landseer. They are named after the artist Edwin Landseer who was a popular English painter in the 1800’s.

As we were exiting the lake, waiting for traffic (see the photo above), a person driving by said the dogs looked poetic. I hope she meant it in a favorable way.

40 dog miles today with over 1,678 since tracking began
